Arcane is a story of two cities which were once one but are now divided. Inequality and corruption runs rampant between the dividing lines of Piltover and it's Undercity, Zaun. Piltover flourishes with money and technology, while the people of Zaun have no representation in government and live fighting for their lives in a dog-eat-dog slum where drug lords rule the streets. Tensions between the two cities only escalate when Piltover and Zaun both develop new technologies. The show is explicitly concerned with what it means to be stuck in a cycle of violence and the various ways violence becomes our undoing. |

| Notable Traits |
Jayce is a tall, muscular, tanned, and generally considered a handsome man with hazel eyes, long-ish dark hair and a short scruffy-ish beard, and a small scar on his right eyebrow. He's coming from post season 2 after [spoilers] have happened to him so he's a bit of a mess with multiple scars across his body, most notably a diagonal slash across his whole back and a large gash in his left lower leg, with smaller scrapes across his face; the larger injuries and scars have a kind of multi-colored fungal-like growth(? infestation?) around the wound and skin. There is a small blue stone engraved with a rune that's embedded into the inside of his left wrist, the surrounding skin also marked with that same growth pattern. He also has small white-and-gold patterned markings across his head in the shape of fingerprints that will shine like pearl or jewellery when exposed to direct light, 4 of them visible on his forehead and the 5th mark under his hair above and behind his right temple. Due to the massive injury with his left leg, he requires a leg brace to walk. |
| 15 Second Summary |
Jayce is an ambitious, somewhat gullible, and creative person. He's has a lifelong dream of using science to harness magic, which he comes to call Hextech, and is confident in its potential. He has a passion for his inventions and has a child-like happiness, and shows how deeply he cares about the world around in him wanting to help make it better. As he gets exposed to and drawn into the volatile politics of Piltover and its increasingly hostile sister city of Zaun, he becomes less gullible as he makes his way up to be the de-facto leader of The Council. He is more strong-willed with his decisions in politics, however, Jayce being inexperienced forces him to compromise his ideals for the sake of pragmatism, even having to conform to the corruption of politics in order to drum up enough support, eventually betraying his friends and morals to save his friend and partner Viktor's life. After [spoilers] occur, Jayce grows paranoid and aggressive, coming back with injuries and irrevocably changed by his ordeals. He has little hesitation in using violence to achieve his new goal where he would balk at such extremes before his change. Despite his recent hardened and aggressive personality, he still holds a great deal of compassion. In the end, he chooses to sacrifice himself to aid Viktor in ending the mess they created together.

- Ingenuity/Inventor: A brilliant mind, Jayce is able to invent numerous contraptions, especially those made to utilize hextech gemstones. As a founding father who perfected hextech, he is one of the leading scientists in hextech innovations.
- Durability/Stamina: He is able to survive for an extended period of time in a harsh conditions and a leg injury
- Strength: Years of undertaking physically demanding work in his forge has molded Jayce's body into an athletic physique. He appears to be very strong and has developed enormous stamina and fast reflexes.
- Diplomacy: While not as skilled as others in politics, Jayce's direct actions would lead to many technological innovations that made him a popular figure in Piltover, also able to negotiate many deals with Piltover's elite and politicians to support his agendas, as well as a temporary brokered peace between Piltover and Zaun.
- Arcane Connection: Like Viktor, Jayce was able to access the Arcane after [spoiler], where he was able to see the true nature of Viktor's followers and feel the threat he represented.

Feels 100% human, but there is some trace of magic running through him, most detectable in the rune stone in his left wrist. For those with psychic abilities, they'll be able to tell that he is an open and honest man, but there's an undercurrent of recent instability and trauma in his mind. |
